This summer we are preparing to make some changes for the 2011-2012 school year. One of those changes is deciding that luncheon needs to be revamped. After much discussion, we're moving luncheon from Wednesdays at 12:20 to dinner every first and third Thursday at 6:15. As a staff we are very excited about this move and hope you'll join in our excitement!
We believe by changing Wednesday luncheon to a dinner before 707 will provide students with another tool to invite friends to join them for worship. They'll be able to come get a home cooked meal for $1 and then stay for a night of worship.
By having the dinner every first and third Thursday instead of weekly, churches will only need to provide a meal once a school year as opposed to once a semester. With the meal being in the evening, more church members will be able to attend and eat with our students, thus providing opportunities for discipleship. We also are encouraging churches to bring their 11th and 12th grade students with them and allow them to stay for 707. This will provide the chance for them to set foot in a campus ministry so that when they attend college they will be more comfortable going into a campus ministry building.
We're looking forward to seeing how Thursday Dinner will enhance our ministry on this campus this fall!
